Not only that she won the group with Esther Joseph's Pug Cerese and had to compete against her mum for BIS, mum won on this occasion.

V A L E - REBEL

It is with great sadness that we had to say goodbye to Emily's practice dog Rebel. Rebel was a Jack Russell who was 16 years old and a great little dog. Emily learnt to handle with Rebel and he was carted to dog shows and did the showing practice at lunch time.

JUNIOR KENNEL CLUB  HANDLERS FINAL

The Junior Handlers final for the Victorian State Titlle was  held on Saturday 12th July at the Showgrounds. Emily was to handle Nigel the Weimaraner in the final but unfortunately he bowed the tendon in his front leg the week before and so we had to use our second choice which was Lana the Dalmatian. Emily often handles Lana in the breed so she was quite familiar with what to do with her however we had to do some practic, so Emily came to stay with Granny for the week before so we could do some work. There was 4 in the final of the Junior section and Emily looked gorgeous in her blue outfit, she won the Junior state title, she then had to compete against the winner of the Seniors and she came Runner/up to her. It was very exciting and she did a lovely job. Pictured below with the judge.

CONGRATULATIONS EMILY ON WINNING THE JUNIOR HANDLERS AT MELBOURNE ROYAL SHOW 2007.

Emily is my 8 year old granddaughter who patiently waited to reach 7 to be able to compete in the handlers and now competes on a regular basis. The first 3 shows she qualified for the final of the Junior handlers run by Pedigree. She competed in the final and finished up with a highly commended rating which was amazing for one to achieve in such a short time.
Emily is a fourth generation handler in this family.

She has had some wonderful wins and is able to show most breeds of dogs which we encourage because we believe a good handler should be able to handle any dog. Her parents Shellie & Jonathan have great success with their Dalmatians and it is often a familiar sight  to see Emily in the ring with a Dally for challenge.

Watch this space for more photos of Emily handling.

*** March 2nd -  It is with great sadness that I report that Emily's Frenchie - Albert - escaped through the gate and was hit by a car last night and died.  We are all devastated.
